The scabbard is like a scabbard.
It is not the sword itself, but a shell.
Similarly, the five scabbards mentioned in the Yoga Sutra are not the soul itself, but the five shells wrapped outside.
The soul is defined as “pure consciousness” in the Yoga Sutra.
Layer 1: Physical body layer (food sheath) The physical body layer should be nourished according to the needs of the individual body, the limitations of his own body, the stage of life, etc.: lightness without pain can resist the sense of stability and ease.
Main tools: yoga asana Layer 2: life layer (gas sheath) The operation of our body depends on the flow of qi: ascending qi, descending qi, universal qi, parallel qi and ascending qi.
The balance of qi is embodied in: organ function, sleep mode, pressure resistance, energy and vitality.

Layer 3: mental body layer (mind sheath).

It guides and maintains focus, makes informed choices, seeks knowledge, and learns to store information (memory).
Main tools: chanting Literature study level 4: Spiritual (awareness sheath) personality is born, and is also affected by experience and external environment.
There is a great possibility of change.
Chakras can help us transcend ourselves: the sea wheel (stability and security), the reproductive wheel (life and creation), the umbilical wheel (strength and decision), the heart wheel (love and connection), the throat wheel (expression and truth), the eyebrow heart wheel (intuition and wisdom), the top wheel (spirituality), the main tools: meditation and internal observation.
The fifth layer: the true self (the awakening sheath).
This is the deepest layer.
It is unconditional joy.
Main tools: prayer and ritual yoga, not only for external body.
