Yoga Lotus Style Padmasana Padma is a classic yoga posture, and Lotus Style is one of the classical and literal “postures” meaning “seat”, which is considered the best meditation posture.
Personally, I have found that one of its main benefits is that it is the only sitting posture that does not put pressure on the spine – the weight of the body is on the thigh bones, not the pelvis.
Floating the spine in this way helps prevent back pain during prolonged meditation.
