Basic Course of Yoga Zen: Body Yoga

The meditation of Tibetan Buddhism is actually a kind of yoga.

The word “yoga” originated in India and became very popular in Tibetan Buddhism after it was introduced into Tibet with Buddhism.

Today’s yoga not only refers to the practice of Buddhism, but also has become a sport for people in the world.

You may know that in Western countries, there are particularly many people practicing yoga; In major cities in China, there are also many yoga centers with various methods and places to practice yoga.

Buddhist yoga can be divided into body yoga, language yoga, and mind yoga from three aspects: body yoga, language yoga, and mind yoga.

Body yoga: The secret behind posture is that many people’s sitting posture at the scene is a way of body yoga.

I think you still sit very well: sitting with your hands folded, making a set mark on both hands, or a mind resting hand mark.

Dingyin is commonly used in daily life, which is the type of handprint of Amitabha Buddha.

The posture of the body is very important.

If you understand the principles behind it, you will know that the posture of various Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and even saints of various religions when they achieve it can be said to be body yoga.

For example, the postures of each Arhat among the five hundred Arhat, the postures of the eight Bodhisattvas, the postures of other saints and religious leaders in the portraits, and even the postures of the silent and angry masters in the Tantrism are actually a way of practice.

Essential for beginners: To summarize all the postures, the most important one is the “Pilu Seven Dharma Sitting Pose”.

During yesterday’s meditation, the mage may have told you about it.

This sitting posture not only exists in the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, but has been passed down from the era of the previous Buddha, the third statue of the Thousand Buddhas of the Sage Kalpa, the Kasyapa Buddha.

At that time, there were five hundred people practicing on the mountain, but they were unable to gain enlightenment.

Later, according to the teachings of the Kasyapa Buddha, they practiced the Pilu Seven Dharma Sitting Pose, and everyone recognized the nature of the heart.

Therefore, when learning meditation for the first time, it is best to choose the Seven Branches Sitting Method.

Key point explanation 1: Where do the eyes actually look? There are several points that need to be reminded in the seven legged sitting method.

One is the perspective of the eyes.

In some practices, it is required to look directly into the void ahead.

However, for most people, if they keep their eyes open, the scene that appears in front of them can easily lead to separation.

Therefore, it is recommended that beginners close their eyes so that anything appears, which basically has no impact on you.

After reaching a certain level of cultivation and all the scenes are harmless to you, you can open your eyes and meditate.

Even in secret teachings, you can still look east and west, but your heart is always at peace – this requires a certain level of understanding
