[Yoga Zen] Basic Course: Body Yoga

The meditation of Tibetan Buddhism is actually a kind of yoga.

The word “yoga” originated in India and became very popular in Tibetan Buddhism after it was introduced into Tibet with Buddhism.

Today’s yoga not only refers to the practice of Buddhism, but also has become a kind of exercise for people in the world.

As you may know, in western countries, there are many people doing yoga; In China’s major cities, there are also many yoga halls with various methods and places to practice yoga.

The yoga of Buddhism can be divided into body yoga, language yoga and meaning yoga from the three aspects of body, language and meaning.

Body Yoga: The secret behind the posture.

Many people’s sitting posture is a kind of body yoga.

I think you can sit very well: sitting with your hands crossed, holding your hands together, or resting your mind.

The seal is usually used, which is the kind of hand print of Amitabha Buddha.

The posture of the body is very important.

If you understand the truth, you will know that all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and even saints of all religions can be said to be yoga.

For example, the postures of each Arhat in the five hundred Arhats, the postures of the eight Bodhisattvas, the postures of other saints and religious leaders in the portraits, and even the postures of the silent and angry masters in the Tantrism are actually a way of practice.

The beginner must learn: Pilu’s seven methods.

To sum up all the postures, the most important is “Pilu’s seven methods of sitting posture”.

The mage may have told you about it during the meditation yesterday.

This sitting posture does not only exist in the teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha, but it was handed down from the era of the last Buddha, the third Buddha of the Sage Buddha.

At that time, there were 500 people practicing on the mountain, but they could not get enlightenment.

Later, they did Pilu Seven Sitting Posture according to the teachings of Buddha, and all of them knew the nature of the heart.

Therefore, when you are beginning to learn Zen, you’d better choose the seven branch sitting method.

๐Ÿง Key point explanation 1: Where do you look? There are several points that need to be reminded in the Seven Leg Sitting Method.

First, look at the situation with your eyes.

Some practices require you to look directly at the emptiness in front of you.

But for most people, if you open your eyes, the scene emerging in front of you is easy to lead to separate reading.

Therefore, it is recommended that beginners close their eyes, so that anything appears, which basically has no impact on you.

When the cultivation reaches a certain level and all the scenes are useless to you, you can open your eyes and meditate.

Even in Esoteric Dharma, you can look from east to west, but your mind is always at ease – this requires a certain level.

๐Ÿถ Key point explanation 2: The position of the tongue against the upper jaw also needs to be reminded: the tongue against the upper jaw, many people think it is against the gums.

In fact, there is a depression behind the gums, and the tip of the tongue should be against there, which is a key point that can make the separate reading settle down.

The rest will not be discussed here.

After work, or after getting up early, or before going to bed late, you can follow the seven legged Pilu sitting method and settle down a little.

It’s good.

Of course, at a certain time, the body is more comfortable, and the mind is not easily moved by the outside world.

You can lie down, lean against, or take any other position.

But what is more suitable for beginners is this: sitting on one’s back, forming a set seal with one’s hands, and keeping one’s body upright.

When we are meditating, we will use this posture.
